Folding a Handkerchief

S. Matheson handkerchiefs do not need to be folded in any particular style. Simply tuck one in the back pocket of your khakis or jeans, fold one in half for your coat pocket, or throw one in your bag, loosely. (See other uses.)

Even when using an S. Matheson handkerchief as a pocket square in a sportcoat or tuxedo (which adds quite a bit of color, style and class), there are still no strict rules. You may, however, loosely follow the traditional folding patterns outlined here.
